My real estate career began in 2001 when I was asked to help an estate agent being of Dutch origin. His business partners didn’t speak Dutch and he was very busy with his clients from Holland. So he needed somebody able to speak their language. Involved in real estate I decided to do the real estate course. Very soon after passing my exam in 2002 I was asked to join one of the market leaders in South Africa. I worked for this company for 4 years and became one of the two hundred top producers nationally. At the moment, after my second year with RE/MAX I’m rewarded with the Executive & 100% status. 

I came to South Africa in 1999. My husband who is working in the fruit export industry had a job offer from a Dutch company to open an office in South Africa. We came out together to spend a holiday and decided that this was our opportunity to seize and enjoy the beauty of South Africa. Since then we are living in Somerset West and we utterly love this fantastic town and its surrounds.

In Holland I worked as a Human Resource manager. This was in fact a combined job as a human resource manager as well as account manager for the top 10 clients of this company. I started my career as a travel agent. Throughout the years I studied while working. My achievement which I’m proud of is the completion of my 4 years Human Resource management study which I did while I had a very busy job (not 9 – 5). I always have been involved in sales and after sales service.  

Real estate has given me the opportunity to combine my skills of selling and looking after human interests. I have built up wonderful friendships with so many people in my community. These friendships form the basis of my business where 70% is from referrals, past clients and their family and friends. Over the 5 years I have been involved in well over one hundred property transactions. I’m very proud that my previous buyers do not hesitate to contact me at the moment they become sellers.
